Reduced blood volume decreases blood pressure and stimulates left-atrium, aorta, and carotid low-pressure stretch receptors {baroreceptor}. Baroreceptors stimulate glossopharyngeal and vagus cranial nerves to hypothalamus, which causes pituitary-nerve terminals to secrete arginine vasopressin to constrict blood vessels to increase blood pressure.
